I can’t believe that this is the last day of BEDS. I totes made it. I’ll probably go back to just a few posts a week now. I really had fun with this though. How did those of you who participated like it?

Yes, that title is accurate.

I seem to have another ear infection and my last unconventional remedy isn’t working.

So I did some googling, and a few spots suggested garlic and extra virgin olive oil as natural antibiotics.

When I have no healthcare, I’ll try almost anything. Hopefully I’m still alive tomorrow to see how it all goes!

I started over on the Couch to 5K program I’ve been doing off and on because there’s been enough off that I wasn’t seeing a consistent improvement in how I was feeling while I was running. I noticed that in the program’s week 3, which was like week 6 for me, I was running for a longer period of time, but a shorter distance than I had been in week 2. That just doesn’t make sense to me.

So now I’m back on week one, and I’m happy with it. I’m not exactly pushing myself any harder while running, but I am trying to keep my walking pace up. Also, week one has 8 minutes of running that are each separated by a minute and a half of walking. On Sunday when I ran week one, I actually skipped two of the walking periods! So two of my runs were 2 minutes and 6 of them were one minute. Go me!

Now I’ve got a terrible ear ache and I really should be glittering shoes, but I’m going to run.

Yup, definitely going to run.

And then maybe go check out that scale again!

It rarely happens, and unlike many other rarities, I’m not a fan of when it does. Every now and again though, there’s something I enjoy being wrong about.

Like what I said yesterday about being the only one still going strong with BEDS. Not only is Kelly still at it and I’ve missed it because I’ve had her in the wrong Google Reader folder, but so is Cait! With Cait I’m a total loser and wasn’t subscribed to her at all. This is not something that is ok.

Fortunately, I have the day off of work tomorrow, so between glittering and other crafts I will be reading and catching up with these lovely ladies. You should do the same. I mean, they’re cool enough to have proven me wrong, what can’t they do?

I think I might be the only one still going with BEDS. That’s ok though, it’s so cool that people were hopeful and willing to try! You know, like I tried with VEDA!

I’ve kind of loved this whole month long challenge thing that I’ve done for a couple of months now, and I have been thinking about doing something in October as well.

My first thought was to try giving up caffeine for a month, mostly just to see if I could. Then I found out that I’ll be part of the relay team at work which means about a week of overnight shifts. There is no way that I’m doing that without my Dr Pepper.

So instead I’m going to try something I found on Pinterest!

I don’t have some of the sections of the house that this person has, so I won’t have all 40 bags, but I definitely want to do as many as I can and go a bit more minimal around here.

Also, I mentioned in my first Pinterest post about Ashley‘s recipe and that I couldn’t find the pin for it…

I posted a few days ago about my new love for Pinterest, so I don’t have to tell you again how awesome the site is.

Instead I will now show you some of the amazing skirt tutorials that I want to make as soon as I’m done glittering the several pairs of shoes I have just waiting to be sparkly!

That last one, that’s the one that got me talking to a customer the other day about how crazy it is that skirts don’t usually have pockets.

To the boys reading this who think that’s a silly concern, I’d like you to imagine that every pair of dress pants you’ve ever worn to have not had pockets in it.

It doesn’t make sense, right?

Also, I want to do the t-shirt one with a sweatshirt. I see a trip to Goodwill in my future.

One that doesn’t involve me buying shoes to glitter that is. Unless they have good shoes on that visit, I mean, who am I kidding?

The other day at work I had a closing shift at the back register.

These are my least favorite shifts in the store and I end up doing a lot of computer research. This particular night, I decided to look up John Green’s up coming book to see if there was anyone who has ordered it from us!

I’ve totally been hoping that someone would ask me to order The Fault in our Stars so I could do the Nerdfighter sign to them.

Oh, not all of you know what a Nerdfighter is, do you. K, watch this…

Alright, back to being excited about John’s new book!

Maybe I jumped a little bit when I saw that there were two people who had!

Until of course I noticed that only one of those was actually completed. The uncompleted one hasn’t actually been cancelled though.

I’m really tempted to call the one who hasn’t completed her order, in the name of customer service of course, to remind her of what’s going on. I mean, I wouldn’t want her to miss out on a J-Scribble now, would I?

Disclaimer! I know that I am going to sound awful on parts of this. I’ve accepted that.

One thing I don’t like about being a smaller size is that every little bit of weight that I gain, I notice. I mentioned a slight weight gain I’d noticed two weeks ago in a video for The Nerd Nook but I haven’t done anything about it since then.

Today I got on the scale upstairs. I’m up to 137. 137 isn’t bad at all, but it’s a lot different than the 120 that I was just a few months ago.

If I didn’t know what the 120 looked like, I might not care at all, but I do. So yesterday I started tracking my food on the Lose It! app again and I did run again! I actually didn’t start thinking about all of this until after I was running, which I hope is an indication that I’m not just running in response to my increased mass.

The scale I’m using isn’t the best, it’s 7 pounds off. As in when I get on, it tells me I’m 130, but I’m really 137. It’s not perfect, but if I stay consistent with that scale, I wouldn’t mind eventually seeing it say 108.

Ugh, that sounds gross. I don’t actually want to get that small. Actually, I don’t even really want to be down to the 115 that would be, but I feel like I might slack off as I get closer to a higher number, so I’ll keep the number smaller and see where it takes me!

I’m looking forward to playing with recipes and such to see how full I can stay with lower calories. Hopefully that will mean fun recipes for you when I find some great ones.

Dear Casting Director of Dancing with the Stars,

I’d like to start off by saying that I love your show. I’m not even a big follower of celebrities anymore, but I always want to see who is going to be dancing, which then always leads me to needing to tune in to find out who is continuing. It’s very cyclical, in just the way that you would like it to be.

There’s something I’ve noticed about my excitement though. I’m often more interested in the professional dancers than I am in the B or C list celebrities who appear on the show. Hell, I’m more interested in Kym and Maks than I am in most of the full on celebrities who grace the ballroom floor!

And that is actually what brings me here to write to you now.

What happens when someone like Maksim Chmerkovskiy is the star? (This is not to say that Hope Solo isn’t one, I promise I’m part of your audience who definitely knows who she is and just how well she’ll be able to handle Maks this season.)

If he is the star, and he’s dancing with a star, it all just seems like a little much for me. There isn’t anyone who is dancing with the stars, they’re just all stars.

Don’t worry, I have a solution!

Bring in two civilians each season, one lead and one follow to dance with the pros who have their own star status.

I know that this asking a bit more of you, what with the widening of the casting pool and all, so I have an idea to make that easier as well.

Cast me!

I have just enough dance experience to be confident that I can get Maks that mirrorball, but not enough that I would have any more advantage than Joey Fatone or Drew Lachey did.

Heck, if you really want me to, I’m sure I could find a lead to dance with Cheryl or Kym without even breaking a sweat. There’s the pool of my dance friends, but then there’s also the factor of those girls being super hot. Even the least likely guy to dance would jump at the chance to get to touch those girls on a regular basis.
